Akshay Kumar Opens Up About His Own Childhood Abuse Incident

The 49-year-old actor was speaking in Mumbai at an international conference on human trafficking and women’s safety, which he attended with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday, 27th July 2017.

Akshay Kumar reveals his past,
“Let me share my own experience with you all here. When I was a very young kid, a lift-man once touched me inappropriately. The lift man touched my butt. Since I had good communication with my parents, I told them about this incident.”
A police investigation revealed that the guy was “a history-sheeter”. The actor confessed that he was a very shy child and the incident traumatized him to the extent that even to this day he finds it “difficult to say the word ‘bum’. ”
Akshay Kumar is the latest of several Bollywood celebrities, among them actresses Sonam Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin, to have gone public with personal stories of sexual assault.
