Disappointed Harshvardhan Kapoor Gets Into A Twitter Spat With Filmfare Executive After Losing The Award To Diljit Dosanjh
The most prestigious Bollywood award ceremony, Filmfare was held recently in Mumbai and as usually, not everyone is happy with the results. Especially the Mirzya actor, Harshvardhan Kapoor who is highly disappointed on losing the award to Diljit Dosanjh and clearly states that Diljit isn’t a debutant. He justifies by saying that Diljit has already done several Punjabi films and even appeared in a song in the Bollywood film Tere Naal Love Ho Gya in 2008.
In his interview with leading daily, he said, “Although I picked up two debutant awards earlier, I was really looking forward to winning the black lady. But I guess every awards event has its own parameters. I’ll be honest, though. I think a debutant award is meant for someone working on his first film. It shouldn’t go to an actor who has worked in several films in another industry or language.” Adding further, he said, “So if Leonardo Di Caprio wins an Oscar and then comes to do a Bollywood movie, he is a debutant which is not something I agree with.”
Moving further actor Harshvardhan Kapoor also replied to twitter users who wrote that his reason of being disappointed is wrong and him considering himself entitled to an award is wrong.
A Filmfare executive also tweeted on the matter following which were a series of tweets by the Mirzya actor trying to justify his points.
