He arrived on set to watch junior contestants, but ended up flaunting his yoga mojo.
Baba Ramdev was to shoot a special episode for the reality show Super Dancer season one recently.
Baba Ramdev performs on stage with Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor
After the little bundles of talent regaled him with their prodigious moves, it was time for the groovy godman to get going.
As Swamiji showed off his Yoga poses with aplomb, the judges, of course, could not stay put in their chair.
Shilpa Shetty (incidentally, a self-confessed devotee of Baba) along with filmmaker Anurag Basu and choreographer Geeta Kapoor took a break from judging duties in the end to join Baba as he literally let his hair down.
Ramdev encouraged the child dancers by demonstrating some of his moves
Of course, during the show Baba Ramdev pitched in with his gems on dancing, too.
He encouraged each of the young participants and analysed their craft.
The real fun was to come when Baba was invited on stage, however. He started off demonstrating his yoga moves, and was soon giving tips to the child contestants on how to strike perfect but simplistic yogic poses.
Judges Shilpa, Anurag and Geeta also lapped up the details. Meanwhile, gushing about her devotion for Baba Ramdev for most parts of the show was not enough for Shilpa.
The yoga guru demonstrates yoga during one of his yoga camps in Panchkula earlier this year
The Bollywood actor, who has often been spotted sharing the stage with Baba Ramdev at some of the yoga camps he keeps organising in various towns all over India, hit upon a special way to show her belief in Baba’s ways.
At the end of his yoga session on stage, she just fell at his feet in a shashtaang pranaam, as co-judge Geeta gaped in awe.
International Yoga Day fell on June 21, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as chief guest
Baba Ramdev’s elastic regime should surely help Super Dancer, considering the show has not managed to garner high ratings since it was launched last month.
The show seems to be a spin-off of several similar reality shows that try cashing in on the talent of gifted children.
Anyone from four to 13 can participate. While on Baba Ramdev, he has been more in the news lately for the bumper achievements of his ayurvedic FMCG line, Patanjali, which has been growing phenomenally lately, and for his yoga camps, rather than any spiritual reasons.
Patanjali Ayurvedic raked in a record Rs 2000-crore revenue in 2014-15. No wonder Baba has gotten in the groove!
